Arkwright Scholarships
15 -16+
To encourage and stimulate high ability students to take up engineering or technological careers by awarding scholarships during A Level. Arkwright Scholars pass a rigorous selection process and will be Ambassadors of flourishing design and technology and maths departments in their schools.
CAD/CAM in Schools
11 - 16+
This offers industry-standard software to secondary schools, 6th form colleges and all trainee teachers enrolled on design and technology courses. Pupils can also use the software at home. Teachers access the software via a training programme provided by accredited trainers, and receive ongoing advice from a network of support centres and a dedicated website.

Engineering Education Scheme
16 - 17
The EES provides a professional engineer from a company to work with a team of up to 4 high ability Year 12 students and there teacher for 5-6 months on a real engineering problem. The students get experience in problem solving, team working, project management, presentation and other key skills. There is a launch event, a residential university workshop and a celebration and assessment day for each team. Students will receive a Gold CREST Award.
Formula Student
18+
Promotes careers and excellence in engineering, by challenging university students across Europe and beyond to design, build, develop, market and compete as a team with a small single-seater racing car. All entrants must be members of the IMechE, or IET, or SAE.
Greenpower Catapult
14 - 16+
Designed to minimise options and to make the design fast and as simple as possible the format is a 200 metre 'drag race'. Cars must be made to the CATAPULT specification.
Greenpower F24+
16+
Formula 24+ is an exciting new Greenpower Formula, aimed at those in further education aged 16-21 years. Anyone that falls into this category can enter, including privateers, youth groups, sixth forms, colleges, universities, and company apprenticeship schemes. Eight championship rounds of 90 minutes each will be held at major motor circuits for Formula 24 + cars during June, July and September 2008. Teams must compete in two races of their choice, plus the final round of the season held at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in October, to be included in the Constructors Championship. Headstart
16 - 17
These are four-day residential experience course held at a major national universities that involve participation in practical problem solving activities, lectures and presentations, visits to local companies, experiencing university life as an undergraduate and learning about the challenges and rewards of science, engineering and technology. The courses take place every year in July. Courses are divided into four distinct categories: Engineering (broad-based), Focus (single discipline), Insight (girls only), and Science and Society.
Nuffield Bursary Scheme
16-17
Aimed at students who have just completed Year 12 and who are primarily involved in Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics. The scheme gives them the opportunity to join a real research project with practicing scientists in any area of science, engineering or technology. Projects run for four to six weeks in the summer holidays and students receive a £75 a week bursary. The scheme runs every year.

SETSET
16+
Sixth Formers Entering Tomorrow's Science, Engineering and Technology. This is our GETSET and BETSET programme from LFC rewritten to suit sixth form students. The aim is to promote STEM by splitting students into teams and giving them a scenario to work through. Carrying out STEM related tasks in order to save the day. It is a fun way to encourage students to think about STEM courses and careers. You can have this activity for your school only either at the school or a selected venue. Costs do apply.
Shape the Future
Shape the Future is a campaign to raise awareness of engineering and technology as a stimulating career option and an essential and exciting part of modern Britain. It will start young people on a journey, making connections between the issues they face and the solutions engineering and technology can provide. And, to help them on their way, it will signpost opportunities for them to do one more thing – such as joining a Young Engineers club at their school or another similar initiative, participating in a classroom discussion or logging onto a website for more information. Smallpiece Trust 4-day Residential Courses
13 - 17
The Smallpeice Trust is looking for over 1,500 students to attend residential courses in more than 30 subjects including Aerospace technology, Biomedical engineering, Marine technology, Robotics, Sustainable energy and Nanotechnology. Courses take place at universities across the country, including Cambridge, East Anglia, Exeter, Greenwich, Lancaster, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Newport, Oxford, Portsmouth, Southampton and York. These are scheduled around the school holidays in January, March and summertime. All courses are affiliated to the Royal Academy of Engineering Best Programme. Courses are heavily subsidised by around 75%. Price ranges from £25 to £195 for 4 days, full board, course materials and social activities. If you are a teacher and want to come along too, they will also pay you £240 in gift vouchers as a thank you! Study Experiences
14-19
Due to start January 2009, study experiences will offer an event specially tailored for the students of the 14-19 Engineering Diploma. The venue is Disneyland Paris. The programme will include exclusive behind the sciences video footage and live interviews with ride engineers and other responsible for the design, operation and day to day maintenance of the Resorts A diploma study experience consists of return travel to Disneyland Paris, hotel accommodation on-site and three 40 minute study sessions. The Year in Industry
18+
Provides paid, degree-relevant work placements for students in the year out before or during their degree course. There are opportunities in all branches of engineering, science, computing and business. The placements provide structured and fully supported work experience from which the students gain career and personal development, confirm their career choice and prepare for their degree.
Young Engineers Club Network
7 - 19
The Young Engineers Club Network supports over 1,200 active Young Engineer Clubs spread across the UK. Young Engineers provides guidance on how to establish and sustain a club, where to obtain discounts, an activity bank of suitable activities and whole host of other useful services. Club achievers are celebrated via the Club of the Year competition.
 
Young Engineers for Britain
11 - 18
This competition is a national celebration of the best creative projects in the country. It challenges students to use their imagination to create, design and develop an original idea for commercially viable device or system that meets a useful everyday need they have identified.
