Maestro  - exciting the scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians of the future

Maestro provides STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) activities for students of all ages across Merseyside and Cheshire. By engaging young people in memorable experiences and exposing them to inspirational hands-on workshops Maestro is enriching the teaching of STEM and raising the aspirations and awareness of students. Through our activities we are encouraging pupils to study STEM subjects and increase participation in STEM related careers.

The Big Bang North West is taking place on Tuesday 10th July 2012 at St George’s Hall and the World Museum in Liverpool. The day promises to be a fun packed celebration of everything STEM in our region.  The event will include the heats of the National Science & Engineering Competition as well as exhibitions,shows,workshops, hands-on activities and careers advice.

This year the Liverpool Festival of Science & Technology is being held on Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th July 2012. The Festival programme aims to inspire and enthuse the Scientists, Technologists, Engineers and Mathematicians of the future.

Congratulations to all our local students who represented our region at the National Science & Engineering Competition in Birmingham. We are delighted to announce that a number of students from Merseyside were awarded prestigious prizes at the event, including Kirtana Vallabhaneni who came away with the top award of Young Scientist of the Year.
